People

Garrow Equity was formed with the vision of building a company that places the financial well-being of its investors at the pinnacle of business operations while being transparent and above reproach. This team is seasoned in land development, banking, finance, wealth management, client relations and real estate transactions.


Russ Garrow

Russ has had a distinguished career as a member of the executive leadership teams at The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, The Bank of Clark County, Ferguson Wellman Capital Management, and The Commerce Bank of Oregon. In each of these positions he has enhanced productivity while increasing revenues and investments. Russ earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Carroll College and subsequently served in the United States Marine Corps for eight years. Having earned the rank of Captain, he was placed in command of the budget and finance operations at Camp Pendleton.

Russ is a man of faith who recognizes that he has been blessed. His love for his role as a father helps him maintain focus, balance and humility.


Alan Ford

Alan has been with Garrow Equity since October of 2008. With a BA in Business Administration, and a MA in Education, he brings to the firm an eye for detail, organization, and systems. His experience includes small business owner, law enforcement, retail management and real estate sales. Alan’s primary function with Garrow Equity is Client Relations, however, he is also the resident expert in self-directed IRA’s as an alternate means for investing in our funds. The relationship we enjoy with TD Ameritrade and Pensco Trust Company, both of which are IRA custodians, has been solidified by his interaction with their representatives and his attendance of several educational seminars.

Alan is a musician having been a guitar player and a vocalist for most of his life. His appreciation of the arts and creative eye adds an important piece to the team.  He also enjoys his community service which includes: board member for the Itafari Foundation, committee member for The Brian Grant Foundation in 2010, volunteer for the YWCA of Clark County and a volunteer for the Triple Point Youth Center.   

 

Dennis Rugg

Dennis Rugg Dennis has been lending his experience as a Chief Financial Officer to the Garrow Equity team since it’s inception. With the addition of Garrow Niblick LLC, our informal relationship became official. Dennis has earned a BA in Business Administration and has completed post graduate courses in real estate appraisal, accounting and asset and financial management. With his 17 years experience as the CFO for a major commercial land developer, he has quickly become a valuable part of the Garrow Equity team.  His direct responsibility and authority for treasury, accounting and all financial related matters has been directly responsible for years of success.

Dennis is significantly involved in the community. He serves as the a Chairman of the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross of Southwest Washington and is a Trustee for the Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation.

 

Matt Bader

Matt Bader Matt brings more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry to the Garrow Equity team.  His primary role with Garrow Equity is in the area of business development.  In his previous career as an investment advisor and financial planner Matt recognized that detailed research and the development of competing investment strategies were necessary when putting together a solid investment strategy. Matt has been with Coldstream Capital Management as a principal and portfolio manager and Peregrine Capital Management.  He also helped start the Schwab Private Client program and has managed over 100 million dollars in client assets.

Matt is a native of the Pacific Northwest and enjoys golfing, running and spending time in Central Oregon.
